Amirah is a registered and licensed counsellor (KB11775, PA11392). She mainly works with women who are navigating difficult emotions and learning how to show up for themselves, their faith, relationships, and responsibilities with greater clarity and compassion.
Amirah’s approach is gentle and intentional. She takes a holistic view of mental health by looking at how our thoughts, emotions, physical well-being, relationships, and spirituality affect one another. Depending on the individual and their needs, she incorporates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) into her work. Most importantly, Amirah tailors therapy to each person’s experiences and goals.
Where relevant, Amirah also brings in an Islamic perspective in a way that feels supportive and grounded. Her understanding of faith and mental health continues to grow through ongoing learning, reflection, and Islamic studies.
Outside of counselling, Amirah enjoys trying new things, from wall climbing to DIY projects. But above all, she finds the most joy in deepening her understanding of the deen and surrounding herself with good company and meaningful relationships.

Amirah spent close to 9 years in the corporate sector, including roles in banking and economic research. She later worked as a special education teacher before moving into counselling.
